It was great fun sliding down the big slide at the Margaret Mahy Playground on Friday.

Egg Science

We have been sneaking some extra science into the Stride this term by conducting short experiments and using them as a writing prompt. You may have been told about the water experiment from a couple of weeks back. Today we did an egg-in-a-bottle experiment which you can see in the video below. The students will be asked to draw and accurately label what they saw, describe it clearly in writing, and to suggest an explanation. If you (think you) know the explanation, please resist telling your child. We want to discuss different ideas as a class before confirming any. You may want to recreate the experiment at home!

Polly's Project

Polly has completed her first project which was to design a house for a pet. She achieved the criteria of having a place for the pet to eat, sleep, including exercise equipment and a way in and out. Great work Polly!

Buddy Time

We love buddy time on a Friday. It is fun reading to our buddies and playing. We all really like playing on our new adventure playground. It is awesome!

We started the year being adventurous by taking part in the school triathlon. We had to bike, swim and run. Some of us could run faster than our buddies!
