Elf Technology

The students were put into mixed groups - groups where they had to work with people who would not normally be their first choice group-mates. The goal was for them to work collaboratively. They were asked to build the tallest shelf they could for a Christmas Elf to sit on. All they had was twelve popsicle sticks and some playdough.

An example of one of the shelves.
James and Liam hard at work.

Will it hold?...

A good early effort. Could they build bigger?
Nate, Vincent and Jayden had a very sold design. 31 cm!

 32 cm!

Not sure what's going on here...

An earlier effort from these three.
